Couple in a warm therapy session

Couples therapy

Every relationship hits hard moments.

Couples therapy isn't about deciding who's right. It's about understanding each other better, breaking old patterns, and finding your way back to each other — or forward, together.

What couples therapy actually looks like

Couples therapy is a space where both of you get to be heard — not just the loudest voice or the one who called to make the appointment. I work with couples who are struggling with communication, navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, or simply feeling disconnected from each other.

Sessions are 45 minutes, held virtually so you can join from wherever you are in Connecticut, New York, or Florida. You don't have to be in crisis to benefit. Many couples come in simply wanting to feel closer, communicate better, or get ahead of patterns before they become bigger problems.

You might be here because...

You keep having the same argument
You feel more like roommates than partners
Trust has been broken and you want to rebuild
Conflict feels overwhelming or goes nowhere
A major life change has put strain on the relationship
Emotional or physical intimacy has faded
Family dynamics or parenting is creating tension
Things are okay — but you want them to be great

My approach to couples work

I don't take sides. My job is to help both of you feel safe enough to say what's really going on — and to hear each other in a new way. I bring warmth, directness, and a lot of curiosity to couples work.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), but I adapt to what each couple actually needs. Some couples need tools and structure. Others need space to finally say the things they've been holding back. Most need both.

What to expect

01

Free consultation

A 15-minute call to talk about what's bringing you in, answer your questions, and make sure we're a good fit. Both partners are welcome to join.

02

Getting started

The first few sessions are about understanding your relationship — its history, its strengths, and what's gotten hard. I'll meet with you together, and sometimes individually early on.

03

Doing the work

We'll build new patterns together — better ways of communicating, repairing after conflict, and staying connected. Real change takes time, but most couples notice a shift sooner than they expect.

A note on who I work with

I work with all couples — regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or relationship structure. Every relationship is different, and I bring the same nonjudgmental curiosity to all of them.

Ready to take the first step?

Reaching out together — or even on behalf of both of you — takes courage. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a feel for whether working with me feels right.
